BOLTON BASHING

So just today, my friend Paul informed me that Yahoo.com had a list of "The 10 Most Annoying Singers." The list included Celine Dion, John Mayer, James Blunt and others, but standing at #1 was Michael Bolton. Honestly, Michael Bolton is awesome. I decided to defend him by making a list of the Top 5 reasons why Michael Bolton rocks.

5. The HairI know he doesn't have the long luscious locks anymore, but that's because of age. When he was in his prime, every man wished they could have hair like Michael. I mean just look at it. What woman wouldn't want to run their hands through that? I wonder what shampoo and conditioner he uses........

4. The Pants
How many of us could ever pull off the leather pants look? Only a select few have that God given gift, and Michael is one of them. The sleek and sexy pants are something that everybody wishes they could wear, but most must admire it on somebody else.


3. The Voice
I have a pretty diverse taste in music, but one thing I can always appreciate is good vocals. Steve Perry, Freddie Mercury, Stevie Wonder - all guys with tremendous talent, right? Michael belongs in the same sentence as them. Not even a question. Kenny G. , the popular saxophonist, liked Michael's voice so good, he did a couple collaborative songs with him. When you get props from other greats in the music biz, you know you're good.

2. The Question
In my favorite Michael Bolton song of all time (watch the video below), he raises a good question: "How Can We Be Lovers" (the title of the song) if we can't be friends? Whether it be a marriage, an affair, or just a booty call, friendships must be maintained if you wanna keep the good thing you've got going. Words of wisdom Michael, words of wisdom.


1. The Tribute
The first time I really was able to appreciate Michael Bolton was when NBC aired "The Michael Bolton Tribute On Ice" in 2006. What an event. That is where I first heard my favorite Michael Bolton song. It featured skating greats such as Scott Hamilton and Shae-Lynn Bourne, to name a few, skating to live performances by Michael. I believe the proceeds went to charity.


So here's the rundown: Michael Bolton is cool because of his hair, his pants, his voice, his question, and his tribute. I'd like to see anybody argue with those. Because they would fail, and fail miserably. Feel free to add the reasons why you love Michael Bolton.
